Joe has designed, installed, and maintained hundreds of Defined Benefit Plans for small businesses. He focuses on creatively addressing the retirement and tax-deferral goals of owners while controlling the costs of other participants in the plan in cases where employees are involved.
Joe has had an independent practice since 1994, and has operated as Friberg Retirement Plan Consultants and as Pentec Actuarial Services. He also established AutomatedPensions, Inc. as a web presence in 2001.
Prior to independent practice, he had worked at both large and small actuarial firms. He has been involved in all phases and aspects of actuarial consulting and administrative work on retirement plans ranging in size from 1 to over 5,000 participants, spanning both private and public sector plans.
Joe is a family man and a man of faith, with his family now beginning to extend to the second generation. He enjoys many outdoor activities as well as teaching the Bible.
